A Steering Committee has been put into place in both Kratie and Stung Treng Women`s Community Radios formed by different NGOs working in the provinces and also government organizations.

The common objective is to produce and disseminate community relevant information and to give voice to women and men from their provinces, promoting women empowerment in the community and contributing to improve gender equality. Members participate regularly in the Steering committee meeting to provide ideas for radio programmes and comment on quarterly topic plan, to introduce possible information sources tothe production team and to contact with potential guest speakers to talk in the programs.

We are collaborating with Building Community Voices (BCV) in their project “Supporting indigenous people’s voices”, funded by UNDP.

Indigenous peoples are heavily marginalised in the field of information and media. To rectify this, programs which promote audio and visual media production by community media volunteers are being produced in 3 indigenous communities in Ratanakiri: Tampoun, Kren, Charaay.

Women´s Community Radios, Kratie and Stung Treng, help to produce some of these programs in Khmer and broadcast them so that they reach a broader audience.
