Training activities will be directed at the local radio staff and the local counterpart´s staff. After the training period, the production, edition and broadcasting of programs incorporating gender perspectives will commence. To that end, specialists in gender related issues will provide technical assistance and oversee program production and follow-up of the audience.

Training Programs

A survey took place in Kratie and Stung Treng to understand the audience’s needs and listening preferences, as well as the best hours for broadcasting. The topics for each program are chosen through audience survey, through the Steering Committee members proposals, information received from the community in visits and the callers’ recommendations.

A gender expert ensures the gender perspective in the radio by training the radio staff and supervising the contents produced as well as elaborating a Gender Strategy for the radio.

Audience Surveys

A Broadcast Mobile Unit has taken place during the month of September 2013 in Kratie province. Radio programs have been broadcast in different communes: Kratie town, Sambour, Chetra Bray, Praek Prasab and Cchloun, in order to know what the community people think about the programs and what their suggestions are.

The results are encouraging, as community people express their interest for the programs, think they provide them important information and like being able to participate in the live shows.
